A self-described "black hippie" (per INDY Week) with 20+ years in stand-up, Mike Mello got his start at Charlie Goodnight's Comedy Club in Raleigh.
Virginia-born and based in Raleigh after nearly 25 years in Cary, Mike has toured with Tracy Morgan (who once tried to buy a joke from him) and Russell Peters, and opened for Dave Chappelle, Ralphie May, Damon Wayans, and D.L. Hughley. He's an NBC Stand-Up Diversity Showcase finalist, has been heard on SiriusXM, and starred in his own hour-long special, Incognegro (2018), followed by What's Seasoning? on HITKOR. In 2022, he appeared on D.L. Hughley's Speakeasy: Comedy Overload.
